I saw tick black smoke when I was on my way home for lunch. When I got there, a tire shop/workshop caught fire. I arrived there earlier before the fire engines comes. Happy viewing!

The Empire Hotel & Country Club
|
|
This is an aerial photo of The Empire Hotel & Country Club. It was taken by my brother. For those who doesn’t know what is it, The Empire Hotel & Country Club is Brunei’s only 5 stars resort hotel. One level below Burj Al Arab in Dubai. And it's also a member of the World’s Hotel. Even tough it is a 5 stars, but to stay there you only pay for the price of a 4 stars hotel in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Means rates are very competitive. The hotel has complete facilities, SPA, bowling, indoor swimming pool, golf, cinema and many more. To find more about this hotel, please google search their website..hehehhehe...

CAMBODIA
|
|
Hi!! Since I have noting to share with you now, here are some of images taken during my visit to Siem Reap in Cambodia. These were taken sometimes in October this year. I really likes the place. You know, I loves to go to the "Third World Countries". Siem Reap or Cambodia is like 30 years behind us. My journey was on surface from Thailand. I departed Bangkok as early as 4.30 in the morning. Took a bus to the border, then went for offroading with Toyota Camry and arrived in Siem Reap at around18:30hrs. tapi balik from Siem Reap to Bangkok I naik plane “Bangkok Airways. In Siem Reap, I visited the Angkor Wat (The World’s heritage), Tonle Sap Lake (one of the largest fresh water lake in the world) and many more. I also visited a masjid situated in the muslim community area and berkenalan dengan Kadi kat situ.

The Lonely Village
|
|
Not all Bruneian have been to this place, “Kampung Menunggol. It is a remote village situated on the island of “Pulau Berambang”. 10 Mins on boat from Kampung Pintu Malim. I was with the groom’s entourage for the Nikah ceremony. We took a water taxi to go to the island then to the bride’s house with an old/rid-off bus. The road is made of concrete (cement), and once we arrived, I was so amazed to see that there are lots of motor bikes. It feels like I wasn’t in Brunei. Anyway, it’s too much to describe my experience here, just proceed to see the pictures, and I hope it could tell you the story. To all christian out there, Merry Christmas!! and for the rest "Happy Holiday!!"

Today, I’m with my few friends in Paramator Association (Brunei) to join the Search & Rescue Operations for the missing Indonesian fisherman whose boat was capsized yesterday. This is our 1st. task in such operations. You know what???, we “MADE IT”. One of our pilots found the body when he maneuvering around The Empire Hotel & Country Club. Later, A simple “kesyukuran” at the Amanah Harith restaurant. I would like to congratulate Capt. Abu Hasrah (V8ABR).
BODY RECOVERED taken from Borneo Bulletin, 25 Dec 2005
The search and rescue operations for the missing Indonesian fisherman whose boat was capsized on Friday morning came to an end yesterday when his body was found floating by a paramotor pilot who joined the operations, however the search for the other two locals who went missing last week continues.
The engagement of a team from a newly formed Paramotor Association began yesterday headed by the founder of the association Lt. Col. Hamzah bin Hj Sahat with his members to join the Search & Rescue operations by the Marine Police, RBAF, Firemen and local fishermen. Five paramotor pilots joined the operations.
It only took them around 10mins after the 1st take off for paramotor pilot V8ABR Abu Hasrah Hj.Abdul Rani to contact their base control by using a VHF radio transmitter to inform that he had spotted a body which was only 25 metres from the coastline, then the message were relayed to the search & rescue base camp for their action.
Abu Hasrah said he saw the body from a height of 20 metres above sea level. It was only part of the victim's head, and to confirm what he saw he descended 5 metres.
Personnel from the Fire Brigade Search & Rescue team later brought the body ashore and the medical officer later pronounced the victim dead.

I am taking an emergency leave today. I have insomnia and couldn’t sleep last night till dawn. That because I was too tired after attending nikah ceremony of my fren’s brother. He's a pilot with RBA. They requested me to be the photographer. Whatt??? Nikah in the evening??. But to tell you the truth, I really hate using the flash light, coz I don’t know how to use it. Haha!!!! Furthermore, my flash unit is the old fashioned Nikon SB-28 which is not TTL with my Fuji S3Pro body. And I don’t know how to take wedding photography. Anyway, just take a try. Still long way to go for Wedding Photojournalism. The function was till 11pm and I reach home around 12.45am. You will find some of the images here and hope that you could comment.
This morning, I prepared my breakfast, chessy sausages, crab stick and bean curd skin with prawn. Well in the photo you will see all look the same. (an outstanding chef haa!!). Again, I was late for the Jumaat pray, but managed to arrived at Masjid SOAS Mosque before the 1st. sermon ends. After the prayer, I saw group of kids gather, and you will see what they are waiting for. Sorry about my English, I am not good in that, as long everyone could understand. Hehehehe!!!

Hi! Welcome. I am Arjuna from Brunei. This is the 1st. photo blog that I have created and participated. From today on I will share my photos for your viewing. May be I am not that well known in the country, but some do recognised my name, from a song, newpaper or poem.
Okay, my 1st. contribution here is images taken lastnight at the airport for our Haj Pilgrims departure to the holyland. One of my relative naik haji, but too bad I didn't get a snap of him. The airport was so crowded. And without using flash light, you just imagine how hard to get good photos in a low-light condition.
